Wheatlands YMCA Recreation Center – Viewing Platform

Come watch construction take place on the new Wheatlands YMCA Recreation Center.  A viewing platform has been constructed on the outside of the safety fence located on Wheatlands Parkway.  The viewing platform allows you to see over the construction fence and watch as the building transforms.   The platform faces what will be the main entrance to the building.  So next time you are strolling by, feel free to stop, climb the stairs and watch the construction progress.   To follow along with the construction progress you can also visit www.wheatlandsparkandrec.com 

July 4th – KONA ICE & High Point Creamery

Take a walk, run or bike ride up to the park to enjoy a sweet treat this 4th of July! We have 2 dessert trucks coming to the Wheatlands Park on July 4th. Please note the staggered times, KONA ICE will be there from 11-12:30 and High Point Creamery will be there from 1-3.

Community Competition | Fri – Sun

We’re judging patriotic porches, backyard BBQs, dressed-up dogs, decorated bikes, delectable drinks, and more! Post your patriotic pictures on the Wheatlands Residents Facebook page and tag with #FrontPorch4th. Winner gets bragging rights for the most patriotic family in the neighborhood and will be featured in our next newsletter.

COMMUNITY UPDATES AND INFORMATION


Pool Information – The pool season is going swimmingly! We are glad every family in Wheatlands can sign up to use the pool this summer! As we are allowed to have more capacity at the pool we are encouraging more walk ups instead of increasing more reservations per family.

We are finding residents are signing up for slots and not showing up so we don’t want to add more slots per family and have the pool not being used. By leaving available slots, residents can take a look at the reservation system and walk up for times the pool isn’t at max capacity.  

If you are not able to make it to your reservation please go on sign up genius and cancel your reservation so our guards know how many walk ups to allow and others can sign up.


Snack Shack is Back! – Good news, snack shack will be opening back up at the pool this Wednesday, July 1st. We ask that you bring exact change to minimize the handling of cash back and forth. Clubhouse Information -The clubhouse is still closed for rentals however as we get more direction from the state on number of people allowed to gather and cleaning requirements we hope to allow rentals soon.

Park Information – The community playgrounds are open and it is nice to see the kids enjoying the space once again. The board has contacted ID Sculpture to repair the damage from the vandalism at the park while the park was closed.  We are also working on adding security cameras at the park to prevent future vandalism.  The pet waste stations have been ordered and will be placed once we get them.  We appreciate your help keeping our trails and parks clean by picking up after your pet and disposing of trash in the provided receptacles.

COVENANT ENFORCEMENT

Trees, Trees, Trees

Many trees in our Wheatlands neighborhood are struggling. They experienced an early freeze last fall, and then a late frost this spring. After doing an initial inspection, it was decided by the board to hold off on continuing with the inspection of trees until after July 1. If the trees are not showing life by then, the homeowner would have until September 30 to replace.

Please note that the Wheatlands Metro District trees will also be evaluated at this time and replaced if deemed necessary. If a household receives a violation regarding dead trees, please feel free to reach out to AMI at [email protected] with any questions. Keeping the lines of communication open with them is important.



How to respond to District rule violation notices

  • Address it: Ignoring a violation notice won’t make it go away and can make the situation much worse, if not responded to. Once you’ve received a violation notice, take steps to understand and correct the violation, and either pay or appeal the fine if issued.

  • Don’t take it personally: Remember that the rules were created to keep the community safe and comfortable for residents, including you. You agreed to abide by the rules when you bought your home.

  • Communicate: While friendly phone or email communication can address minor infractions or warnings, written communication and documentation helps create clarity for everyone involved. When you’ve been accused of a rule’s violation, it’s best to address it in writing. If there are extenuating circumstances—like a family emergency that causes you to fall behind on lawn care—communicate that to your Covenant enforcement manager at [email protected] . You don’t know if an exception might be made until you ask.

  • Get involved: There is usually a correlation between the level of homeowner involvement and the success of a community. So, if you want to improve your community, volunteer for a board or committee position or attend meetings to see how you can contribute.

More Pool Time & Snack Shack Opening

Dear Wheatlands Residents,
With a little more than a week under our belt we continue to adjust and make changes to our day to day operations to make this pool season run as smoothly and efficiently as possible during these unusual times.

With the new announcement from Governor Polis we will now be able to have 75 people on the pool deck at a time. We will still need to practice social distancing and follow the guidelines set forth by Tri-County Health. There will still be regulations on the amount of people allowed in each pool to allow for proper social distancing.

Starting July 1 there will be 15 slots available to sign up for to accommodate the 75 people. Along with these additions of slots each family will now be able to sign up for an additional 3 times to visit the pool. For a total of 7.
Please remember, to enter the pool you need to have your 2020 pool registration completed, the COVID waiver completed and your confirmation of sign up from sign up genius. All this can be found HERE.

Also, please note that if there are open spots on the sign up we are allowing walk ups at the gate.

We will also be adding snack shack back to the pool starting next week.

Concrete Pour – Tuesday 6/23

Dear Wheatlands Residents

Please be aware that there will be a concrete pour occurring onsite at the new rec center location on Tuesday, 6/23.

Due to the size of the pour, 250 yards, the full day will be required for pour activities, and therefore slight preparation will be required starting at 6AM.

Pouring activities and work will not begin until 7AM, Thank you for your understanding on this matter.

Pool Information – No guest Policy

Dear Wheatlands Residents,
Thank you to the YMCA for all their hard work getting the pool ready this season! We have noticed that several residents are taking advantage of the honor system for the pool sign up. As stated in previous communications, unfortunately we can’t allow guests at the pool this year as we have to limit our capacity due to COVID-19.  

We will limit each time slot to have 5 people and if your immediate family has more then 5 please reach out to [email protected] for an exception. For those who already signed up for more then 5 people we will be changing your sign up and only 5 family members will be allowed unless you contact us.  


We appreciate our neighbors keeping each other safe by adhering to Tri-County Healths regulations this summer.  Our lifeguards are working hard to keep you safe at the pool, please help them by not taking advantage of a difficult situation. – Wheatlands Board 

Additional Pool Reservations

Additional Pool Reservations

We look forward to the pool opening tomorrow!  We appreciate your support and understanding as we have to limit capacity on the pool this summer due to COVID-19.   

After letting residents sign up for a few days on the sign up genius located here, we have determined that we have more slots available and we are opening up 2 more slots for families to reserve this summer.  

In addition, for time slots that remain vacant we will allow walk ups on a first come first served basis.  For example, if 8 out of 10 slots are reserved – those 8 families are guaranteed a place at the pool and we would allow the first 2 walk up families on a first come first served basis to fill the remaining spots.  If you reserved a spot and are unable to make your reservation, please go into the sign up genius and delete/cancel your reservation to allow for additional walk-ups.   

We still have time available in the mornings for lap swimming. To reserve a lap swimming time click here.  We can accept walk ups for lap swimming too if it isn’t fully reserved.

Don’t forget, before you go to the pool to fill out the COVID-19 waiver online and to bring your activated Pool Fob. To make the entry to the pool process quicker please have your sign up and waiver confirmation ready to show the lifeguards. Bring your own chairs and food as furniture will not be available and the snack shack is closed.  

We appreciate our neighborhood looking out for each other.  We are doing our best to allow everyone a time to sign up for a reservation at the pool this summer. Please note these reservations are per household and our pool manager will be cross checking the sign up to ensure households are only signing up for their allotted spots. We want to leave spots open still for new residents or residents who haven’t had a chance to sign up yet.  


Thank you for showing kindness as we all adjust to the new pool requirements.  We hope everyone will enjoy a safe and fun summer at the pool!
