Thank you to everyone that came out for the last food truck night of the summer! The kids had a blast in the foam bubble party!!
See you again next summer for more food truck nights. FYI…We will be moving the food truck nights to Wednesday next summer, so we don’t compete with the Southlands Concert Nights.
Thank you to those who attended the Family Movie Night at the clubhouse last Friday. We had between 30-40 total show up to enjoy the movie. Thank you to the Wheatlands Metro District for supplying the popcorn. It was the perfect amount. Hope to do it again in a few months.

City Letter – Amendment to Service Plan of Special District
The City of Aurora mailed a letter in August to residents regarding revising the mill levy to fund SARIA (South Aurora Regional Improvement Authority). The Board has voted to engage special counsel Marcus Lock with Law of the Rockies to evaluate the District’s options regarding the ARI Mill Levy and SARIA’s ability to issue additional debt without the District’s consent, as the Board has not approved taking out any additional debt or a new master plan for SARIA.
Landscape Maintenance
The neighborhood is looking great this summer! Cox has applied fertilizer to the soccer field at the park and we are moving the goals to allow the grass to heal due to so much usage. They are scheduling the tree replacement for the trees identified by our arborist that need to be replaced over the next few months. We are awaiting the results of the inspection regarding our retention pond maintenance. We recognize several residents were upset that Cox had to cut the native grass as part of the repairs and we apologize. We love the native grass too! It was required by the engineer in order to fix the floodplain and clean out the irrigation system properly. We would hate to see any flooding and need to ensure the drainage is working properly. We receive regular inspections from the City of Aurora and comply with their assessments.
Park Rentals
We have noticed an increased number of non-residents renting the bug park. The board has decided to increase the fee for non-residents to allow our district to help pay for the upkeep of the park. The new non-resident rental rate will be $100 and we have also increased the damage deposit to $150.
Key Fobs for the Pool
We apologize to all the residents who had trouble accessing the outdoor pool this summer. We found out that the new all gray key fobs that were handed out at the YMCA this summer actually do not work with our system. You can tell if yours is not compatible if it is all gray. The correct ones are blue, also if you have ones from previous years those all still work. Only if you have a gray one that you picked up this summer, you will need to return it to the YMCA at Wheatlands and they will give you the correct blue key fob. Thanks for your understanding and we apologize for the error with the key fob purchases this summer.
Pool Repairs
We have been making repairs to the pool during the pool season and are so thankful it hasn’t stopped our pool from being open. We recently repaired the tile on the pool that needed to be replaced. We also replaced 2 of the motors for the pool pumps since they had reached their end of life and were cutting out.
Parking Lot Lights
Colorado Lighting inspects the lights at the clubhouse and has noticed several lights have gone out. They will be making the repairs over the next month.
